Stephen Musgrave
With Joel Bush, Stephen is a Capellic’s co-founder and partner. Stephen leads Capellic’s team of technologists, looking both at how to build and maintain robust and durable websites, as well as conditions needed to support this work.
Stephen is bullish on keeping things simple – not simplistic. His goal is to maximize the return on investment and minimize the overhead in maintaining the stack for the long term. This disposition also informs his perspective on AI’s role in development: Enable the humans to leverage their intuitive creativity and problem-solving skills, and delegate implementation tasks to the machine.
Stephen has been working with the web for over 30 years. He was initially drawn to the magic of using code to create web art (Superbad still exists!), added in his love for relational databases, and has spent his career building websites with an unwavering commitment to structured content.
Stephen is a member of the Nonprofit Summit organizing committee for DrupalCon North America and has led several Drupal community discussions ranging from information architecture to performance tuning. He recently presented to fellow Pantheon agency partners on the topic of Application Fortification and Enhancements in the Age of AI.
When Stephen isn’t at his desk, he’s often running to and swimming in Barton Springs Pool, getting a bit too wound-up at Austin FC games, and playing Legos with his little one.
Stephen graduated with honors from San Jose State University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, in 1997.
